Sick of the fantasy setting most MMOs are all about? Do you love GTA and miss falling in love with a new, different MMO? All Point Bulletin is a new upcoming MMO from EA (Realtme Worlds studio) that seems promising. Its set in a city where you choose to be either a criminal or a cop, each with different missions that conflict with the other side’s, creating a conflict between the factions. I don’t think it even tries to compete with World of Warcraft, but definitely a change for anyone looking to an MMO with different taste to play every now and then with friends doing some crazy stuff like robbing a bank or having a gang vs gang fight for laughs.

Neither did I.. as much as it hurts not to be able to play Starcraft 2 while the beta’s out there and lot of people are enjoying it.. I didn’t give up. To make up for the past couple of weeks without any real updates to the blog (even if you don’t really care), I’m here to let you know that a crack for the Starcraft 2 beta is out, although it doesn’t allow you to play neither LAN nor online (yet!), you can play vs A.I. bot with different difficulty settings, which is more than enough for me atleast at the moment.

I’ve been playing it non-stop since I got it yesterday, the game is really good and well polished; just what to expect from Blizzard. I think Blizzard did a really good job keeping the things that made the original Starcraft good (according to SC veterans) with some new improvements without overstuffing the game with new stuff. If you have played the original SC, I think you’ll feel familiar with the game yet enjoy it’s new look and “freshness”. The gameplay is really deep and seems to require a lot of time and practice to really reach a competitive level. The soundtrack is good especially the Terran’s! All the races are fun, I enjoyed playing each of them especially my main, the Zerg.

I really hope all you guys give it a try.. it’s really fun although it’s only available VS bots at the moment. We want a crowded channel “Kuwait” in SC2, just like the good old Warcraft 3 days, maybe even a Saracens Tournament event for Starcraft 2 is possible if enough people play it!

This short film is nominated for the 2010 Best Animated Short Oscar award. It incorporates nothing but logos and mascots of famous brands as its characters. I’m kind of glad they chose Ronald McDonald as the bad guy, I always despised him as a kid!

James Rolfe from Cinemassacre compiled a list of things he’s sick of seeing in movies. I think I agree with all of them with the exception of the 360 shot, I love seeing that in movies!

VIPs: Very Important Pixels is a site dedicated to making pixelated versions of famous people. The great part about it is that they are instantly recognizable and look almost identical to their real life counterparts.

I just found out about this great and original game called Osmos. You play as this strange orb that feels like a either drop of liquid or some giant galaxy in space, and your objective is to absorb everything smaller than you and completely avoid anything larger than you. Everything controls incredibly simple in the game, and the soundtrack that plays in the back is the most relaxing thing you’ll ever hear.

“So, this glitch is basically an extension of the old focus taunt glitch. The reason that glitch works (I think) is because you can kara cancel the focus into any move with greater input priority. The problem is that almost nothing takes priority over a focus – if you try to do an ultra at the same time as a focus, the focus will come out. Taunting is the only move that most characters have access to.

Gen has something unique though. Stance changing seems to have more input priority than even taunts, so kara canceling a focus into a stance change works. Stance changing has very fast recovery, making it practical.

It’s not quite as hard as it sounds. The difficult part is timing the focus to absorb the instant you hit the buttons; stance changing during the absorb animation is relatively easy when you time the first part right. It doesn’t need to be on consecutive frames like a kara throw or anything.

Everything in the video was done without macros or shortcuts of any kind.”
