James Rolfe from Cinemassacre compiled a list of things he’s sick of seeing in movies. I think I agree with all of them with the exception of the 360 shot, I love seeing that in movies!

Pixelated People

Pixels

VIPs: Very Important Pixels is a site dedicated to making pixelated versions of famous people. The great part about it is that they are instantly recognizable and look almost identical to their real life counterparts.

The site has more cool images including my favorite on movie directors. You can check them out here.

Osmos

I just found out about this great and original game called Osmos. You play as this strange orb that feels like a either drop of liquid or some giant galaxy in space, and your objective is to absorb everything smaller than you and completely avoid anything larger than you. Everything controls incredibly simple in the game, and the soundtrack that plays in the back is the most relaxing thing you’ll ever hear.

You can buy the game or try out the free demo on the game’s website.

SF4 Has Parry?!

YeB, a pro Gen player made the video.. here’s his explanation:

“So, this glitch is basically an extension of the old focus taunt glitch. The reason that glitch works (I think) is because you can kara cancel the focus into any move with greater input priority. The problem is that almost nothing takes priority over a focus – if you try to do an ultra at the same time as a focus, the focus will come out. Taunting is the only move that most characters have access to.

Gen has something unique though. Stance changing seems to have more input priority than even taunts, so kara canceling a focus into a stance change works. Stance changing has very fast recovery, making it practical.

It’s not quite as hard as it sounds. The difficult part is timing the focus to absorb the instant you hit the buttons; stance changing during the absorb animation is relatively easy when you time the first part right. It doesn’t need to be on consecutive frames like a kara throw or anything.

Everything in the video was done without macros or shortcuts of any kind.”

When asked about his acting methods, Caine gives the interviewer quite a spectacle.

Michael Caine is simply one of my most admired actors working today. Every year, I keep discovering great movies he’s appeared in and they usually never disappoint. His body of work is huge, spawning over 100 films, most of them considered classics. Even when he’s in smaller roles, the movie instantly becomes more awesome because he’s on the screen. His part in Children of Men for example, even though it’s a small one, it left a huge impact on the viewer. Appearing as Alfred in the Batman movies always steals the show, and his speeches in The Cider House Rules would even make a grown man get teary eyes. My favorite work of his would probably be Get Carter and Sleuth. He’s nothing short of spectacular in those, and his acting is legendary. Thank you, Mr. Caine, for being one of the coolest people in the world.

balrog SFIV GOTY

So I’ve been thinking about my personal Game Of The Year 2009, didn’t really take long to realize that Street Fighter 4 is the winner! It’s the game that I’ve spent most time on, a game that revolutionized and brought the fighting genre back to life. I can’t forget the first day I saw the first teaser of the game, it was something beyond what I’ve imagined for a sequel of SF to reach. I think the game is a blessing not only to fighting games fans, but to the whole gaming community in Kuwait. Its release was a perfect timing with the Saracens Tournament launch, the mixture of ST and SF took the Kuwaiti gaming community to a whole new level. So its greatness exceeds the mere measurements of graphics, gameplay or any aspect of a game. Its a game that made me live so many great moments, meet many great people and to have faith in the competitive gaming Kuwaiti community.
